CBH Harvest Casuals

What is a CBH summer job?

Each year, usually in October, Western Australian (WA) grain growers start harvesting their grain such as canola, wheat, barley and oats.

Once harvested, they deliver their grain to central CBH receival sites all across regional WA. This is where we need your help to keep our sites moving, getting growers and transporters in and out safely, quickly and back to harvesting.

There are three main jobs available at CBH during harvest:

  • Receival Point Operators (RPOs) & Samplers are responsible for testing and checking the quality of grain that growers deliver, weighing trucks in and out of site, helping trucks unload and keeping the site clean. These positions are available at our country receival sites across the WA Wheatbelt.
  • Plant Operators have similar duties to RPOs and Samplers, but at our Albany, Esperance or Geraldton terminals.
  • Grain Technicians are employed at our two Forrestfield sites, Metro Grain Centre (MGC) and the Australian Grains Centre (AGC).
    • At MGC, duties may include testing grain quality, helping load and unload trucks and trains, and keeping the site clean.
    • At AGC, duties may include organising and storing grain samples from across CBH plus more detailed grain testing that can't be completed at our country sites.

You don't require any experience as we provide all of the necessary training!
